THE HERBERT C. CROSBY SCHOLARSHIP
Last May I attended the memorial and burial of U.S. Army Capt. Herbert C. Crosby at Arlington National Cemetery. Capt. Crosby had been MIA for 37 years after the helicopter he was piloting went down in the jungles of Vietnam. Click here for full story and photos.
Capt. Crosby is the brother of my friend Mary Lou Wade. Last December I accompanied Mary Lou to Arlington where she laid a Christmas wreath at Herby's gravesite.
You can learn more about the Crosby Scholarship at Firebird 91, a special page Mary Lou has created. Click on the Scholarship link which includes the first ever recipient -- Cadet Benjamin Boxler’s essay and a 2-minute movie slide show of the event.
The “Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Army ROTC Endowed Scholarship Fund in Memory of Herbert C. Crosby”, or the “Crosby Army ROTC Fund”, is available to eligible students pursuing their academic degree at Embry-Riddle AU Daytona Beach Campus enrolled as members of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (AROTC) program.
Please send your donation to:
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Office of Development

Please note on check: “Crosby Army ROTC Scholarship.”

THE VOICE OF LIBERTY PODCAST NETWORK A CURRENT EVENTS RADIO MAGAZINE
John McJunkin of Avalon Podcasting has created one of the most professionally produced conservative podcasts on the Internet.
It's the Voice of Liberty Podcast Network, a weekly current events radio magazine that publishes a new episode every Monday morning. The Voice of Liberty Podcast features the conservative voices of four bloggers who first got together at the 2007 Conservative Leadership Conference in Reno, Nevada. Andrea Shea-King, talk show host and blogger, Ken Marrero, blogger and political activist, Warner Todd Huston, blogger, teacher and speaker and your host, John McJunkin, radio man, operator of Avalon Podcasting, and blogger are heard on this weekly podcast effort. Host McJunkin explains:
The world is changing - the Internet has increasing sway over political opinions, and it’s time for the conservative side of the world to leverage it in order to influence people. The right-wing blogosphere is sailing along at full steam and has largely counterbalanced any advantage that the left presumed would accrue to them by blogging.
The one area that remains wide open for the right to step in and dominate is the audio-only podcast, which is very similar to another medium that we own - talk radio. The difference is that anyone and everyone can do it, just like blogging. As a matter of fact - we like to think of audio podcasting as “verbal blogging” if you will.
We are going to “promote conservative American values and principles” just like it says in our masthead. We invite you to join us each week for 20-30 minutes of punditry and opinion from the right. Join the growing number of listeners who have discovered the VOICE OF LIBERTY PODCAST NETWORK.
With a new episode every Monday, it's the future of internet broadcasting -- today. *****

ANDREA IN OUR NATION'S CAPITOL
ANDREA took a few days away from the microphone to place wreaths at the gravesites of our servicemen and women at Arlington National Cemetery.Andrea has posted about the experience with loads of photos at her official blogsite THE RADIO PATRIOT.
You can read the posts leading up to this amazing trip and the American Hero who is making the wreath laying possible HERE. Pictured above are Worcester Wreath Company president Morrill Worcester, wreath contributor, with Andrea (right) and her friend Mary Lou Wade, who placed a wreath at her brother's gravesite marker. The story of Capt. Herbert C. Crosby, MIA Vietnam whose remains were repatriated and buried at Arlington last Memorial Day, is also recounted at The Radio Patriot.

What don't you understand?
Muslims who fail to pray five times daily will be sentenced to death under the rule of Islamic clerics who have taken over the Somali capital Mogadishu.
"He who does not perform prayers will be considered as infidel, and Sharia law orders that that person be killed," said Sheikh Abdalla Ali, a founder and high-ranking official in the Supreme Islamic Council of Somalia.
The edict was issued by a leading cleric speaking at the opening of an Islamic court in the capital last night, who added it was the duty of every Somali to implement the provisions of Sharia, or Islamic law.

We salute our Troops and Veterans
For all they do to keep us safe, secure our freedom, and fight the battles the left would have us surrender to, we salute and honor the men and women of our military, past, present and future. We pray for them and their loved ones, and ask God's blessing upon them.

"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is Constitutionally permissible. And if I should be attacked for neglecting my constituents' 'interests,' I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is Liberty, and in that cause I am doing the very best I can." Senator Barry Goldwater
